Pro Tip: i set transaction to 1 sat/vB and it went through in under 1 hour

I went to go consolidate UTXOs (because I received 50+ bitcoin transactions over the last couple years) and instead of blindly clicking send to my own address, I saw that fees were set to the default at 3 sat/vB. I could have changed it to the “slow” option and choose 2 sats/vB which would have reduced fees. Instead, I clicked into advanced settings (I understand there are many different wallet applications so this tip may not even apply to you), and was able to manually set to 1 sat/vB. Transaction confirmed in under an hour for a $3 sat fee.

If you regularly get bitcoin transfers to your own wallet, it could be beneficial to put a reminder on your phone for every 1 or 2 years and consolidate your UTXOs.
